Arthroscopic surgery is a unique aspect of orthopedic surgical training, requiring a different set of skills than traditional open surgeries including bimanual dexterity and being able to work in a three-dimensional space using a two-dimensional screen1. Hip arthroscopy specifically comes with its own unique challenges as the hip is a much deeper joint covered by more musculature than the knee or shoulder, making instrument manipulation increasingly difficult.
