Dr. Paul B Jacob and the Oklahoma Joint Reconstruction Institute (OJRI) are proud to welcome Elaine Justice, MSN, RN to the practice. Elaine, a native of California, moved to Tulsa to start her nursing career. She comes to the Oklahoma Joint Reconstruction Institute with 24 years of healthcare experience, specializing in orthopedic surgery, Joint Replacement, and spine surgery. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2007 to finish her Masters of Science in Nursing at Southern Nazarene University. While completing her degree Elaine earned the Distinguished Achievement Award for academic excellence.
She published her thesis and went on to participate in several clinical research studies. Elaine also serves as an instructor and Training Center faculty for the American Heart Association. Mrs. Justice dedicates her time to being a community speaker for the US Bone and Joint Initiative and she sits on several academic and professional association boards. She is also an active volunteer in the Oklahoma City community, participating in medical mission trips and being a medical volunteer for Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps. In 2013 Elaine was awarded the Oklahoma Hospital Association's Spirit of Tomorrow award.
Most recently, Elaine served as the director of the Total Joint Program for the Center of Excellence in Joint Replacement at Community Hospital, where she worked closely with Dr. Jacob. Mrs. Justice, along with Dr. Jacob, helped to launch this program for Community Hospital in 2014. Shortly after its launch, the government announced the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement program. Elaine and Dr. Jacob worked closely to administer the program, which was a very successful piece of Community Hospital's surgical offerings. Elaine successfully led her Community Hospital team to multiple awards as a center of excellence in hip and knee replacements from various insurance providers. Insurance providers award these designations for quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and nationally recognized certifications.
Elaine will serve as OJRI's Director of Clinical Research for the Oklahoma Joint Reconstruction Research Institute (OJR2I), which Dr. Jacob and Elaine will be announcing later this fall. Elaine will also have duties as the Nurse Navigator for OJRI and will be responsible for all aspects of the pre-op and post-op patient experience.
Elaine now lives in Edmond with her husband Bill, and German Shepard, Rocky. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, woodworking, and traveling. Oklahoma Joint Reconstruction Institute is excited to add Elaine to our team as we move forward with a new research foundation to study and further enhance the quality of care for our patients and our community.
